Stamford & District Bowls League Home

Welcome to the Stamford & District Bowls League website.

We hope you will find the information here interesting and useful  - look around the website to find out more about the League.

The Stamford & District Bowls League has been promoting inter-club bowling in the local area since 1967. The League itself operates on two evenings a week – Mondays and Fridays. For 2026, we will have 26 teams who will compete in TWO divisions, with 13 teams in each division.

As well as the twice-weekly league matches, we run five competitions - the Boor & Wainwright Shield, the Duncomb Shield, the Oddfellows Charity Rosebowl competition, the President’s Triples competition and the Secretary’s Pairs competition. There is also the President's Gala, which supports the President's chosen charity for that year. This year, President James Henderson will be supporting the Stroke Association.

In addition to the details of the fixtures and results, you will find profiles of each club, the league's rules and constitution and a short history of the league. There is also a Photo Gallery, a Club News page and an Events Diary; we hope you will let us know about events at your club that would interest other bowlers.

Click on the menu bars (top left-hand corner) to see all the tabs.

Stamford Town Bowls Club: Parking Advisory Notice

There are now parking restrictions in the Stamford & District Indoor Bowling Club car park.

We have now reached an agreement with the Indoor bowls club regarding the implementation of the parking system. As a safeguard a terminal (similar to City of Peterborough) will be provided in our clubhouse and we ask that all visitors to our club log their registrations in on arrival.

Please do not park in the indoor car park. This is being controlled by a parking contractor. If you attend site and drive into our car park promptly or register your vehicle at the terminal on the day you will be OK.

NOTE ALSO: parking restrictions at RYHALL

Please park on the gravel at the top of the football field. Parking by the club is restricted to blue badge holders or for emergencies only.

Please let us know if there is a club event or achievement that you would like to be publicised here and in the Events Diary or under Club News.
